After falling down a staircase and shattering my left ankle, to developing severe arthritis in that ankle and eventually not being able to walk without pain, I found a gifted and compassionate Orthopedic Surgeon, Dr. Christian T. Royer of Orthopedic Associates of Dallas. He is giving me my life back by performing a STAR (Scandanavian Total Ankle Replacement) on May 4, 2011 at Baylor Hospital. You are welcome to follow along in my journey.

Hi. I had an ankle replacement 13 weeks ago here in the UK. Would love to connect. I have good days and bad days. I had hoped I'd be "normal" by now and have to remind myself its a big op....Biggest thing I'm struggling with is swelling and - pain when I do too much - 6 steps forward and 3 back :( Love your blog
